Celebrate with us on December 10 – International Human Rights Day

Our Organisation

Tibet Support Group Netherlands is an independent foundation dedicated to the human rights and freedoms of the Tibetan people. Our organisation consists of a committed board, active volunteers and an engaged support base who work together towards a better future for Tibet.

Board Members

Our board consists of people with diverse backgrounds and expertise, united by their commitment to the Tibetan cause. They determine the strategic direction of our organisation and oversee the implementation of our mission.

Tsering Jampa

Chair

Tsering has been chair and actively involved with the Tibet Support Group from the very beginning. She has years of experience in international Tibet advocacy and was formerly executive director of International Campaign for Tibet Europe. She brings extensive knowledge and a global network to our organisation.

Maaike Riemersma

Interim Treasurer

Maaike has been actively involved with the Tibet Support Group as a board member for over 33 years. With her background and experience in organisation and management, she is a stabilising force within the organisation.

Volunteers

Tibet Support Group Netherlands runs entirely on the efforts of dedicated volunteers. They are the heart of our organisation and make our work possible. Our volunteers are active in various areas:

Campaigns and Actions

Volunteers who organise demonstrations, collect petitions and coordinate public actions to draw attention to Tibet.

Communication and Media

Volunteers who manage our website, social media and newsletters, and maintain contacts with journalists.

Events

Volunteers who organise cultural events, lectures, film screenings and information sessions.

Education and Outreach

Volunteers who give presentations at schools and organisations, and develop educational materials.

Administration and Support

Volunteers who help with administrative tasks, membership administration, and practical support at activities.

Translators and Researchers

Volunteers who help with translating documents and conducting research into developments in Tibet.

We are always looking for new volunteers who want to dedicate their time, energy and skills to Tibet. Whether you have a lot or a little time, there are always ways you can contribute.

Our Support Base and Partners

Tibet Support Group Netherlands is supported by a diverse and engaged base of donors, sympathisers and partners:

Donors

Hundreds of regular and one-time donors who make our work financially possible. Their support enables us to run campaigns, organise events and make our voice heard for Tibet.

Tibetan Community

The Tibetan community in the Netherlands is an important partner in our work. We work closely together on cultural events, political actions and awareness campaigns.

Partner Organisations

We work together with other Tibet Support Groups worldwide, human rights organisations, religious institutions and civil society organisations that share our goals.

Political Contacts

Parliamentarians, policymakers and diplomats who are committed to Tibet and human rights, and who support our advocacy efforts.

Together, we form a powerful movement that stands up for the rights and freedoms of the Tibetan people. The diversity and dedication of our support base is our greatest strength.

Transparency and Accountability

As an organisation, we attach great importance to transparency and accountability. We publish an annual content and financial report, in which we account for our activities and the spending of our resources.

Tibet Support Group Netherlands has ANBI status (Public Benefit Organisation), which means that donations to our organisation are tax deductible. This also underscores that we meet strict requirements for transparency and good governance.

Our financial administration is audited annually and is publicly accessible on the website. We strive to deploy our resources as efficiently as possible, so that they contribute maximally to our objectives for Tibet.
