Our History
Tibet Support Group Netherlands was founded in 1989, in the aftermath of the violent suppression of peaceful protests in Tibet and the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to the Dalai Lama. Since then, we have tirelessly advocated for the Tibetan cause.
Over the years, we have organised countless campaigns, events and lobbying activities. We have contributed to greater awareness about Tibet in the Netherlands and have helped to keep the Tibetan issue on the political agenda.
Our organisation has grown thanks to the dedication of many volunteers, donors and supporters who share our mission and vision. Together, we continue to work towards a better future for Tibet.
Our Vision for the Future
As we look ahead, we continue to adapt to changing circumstances and challenges. We keep seeking innovative ways to:
- Engage new generations in the Tibetan cause
- Utilise digital technologies for awareness-raising and mobilisation
- Strengthen partnerships with other human rights and environmental organisations
- Amplify the voice of Tibetans in exile and in Tibet
We believe that perseverance, solidarity and a principled approach will ultimately lead to positive change for Tibet.
