Celebrate with us on December 10 – International Human Rights Day

Demand the Release of the Panchen Lama – 25 April at the Chinese Embassy

On 25 April, we celebrate the 36th birthday of Gedhun Choekyi Nyima, the 11th Panchen Lama of Tibet – but he has been missing for nearly thirty years.

In 1995, just days after the Dalai Lama recognized him as the rightful reincarnation of the 10th Panchen Lama, the six-year-old Gedhun Choekyi Nyima was abducted by the Chinese authorities. He became the world’s youngest political prisoner, and to this day his whereabouts remain unknown.

Next week, on 25 April, Tibetans and their supporters around the world will come together to demand the immediate release of the Panchen Lama from the Chinese authorities. We call on all friends of Tibet, human rights defenders, and everyone who believes in justice to join us in protesting at the Chinese Embassy in The Hague.
